He graduated from Baldwin Wallace College and received a MBA from Miami U. Frank was an accomplished track star at both West High and Baldwin Wallace. Music influenced his early life. Proficient at both piano and bass, he founded the Frank Benz Band that played ly in the Cleveland area during the late 40's and early 50's. He was Vice President of Rochester Institute of Technology from 1959- 1970: Vice President of Wood and Hill from 1970-1988: Vice President of Marshall and Swift Los Angeles, 1988- 1994.

Frank was retired and living in Fort Worth, TX. He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline, Ft. Worth, TX; his son, F. Paul Benz III, Calabasas, CA; his daughter, Dr. Nicolle Benz, Ft.

PEERY Plain Dealer Reporter CLEVELAND A memorial service for Don Banks, 79, a jazz musician for decades, will be at 3 p.m. today at the Church of the Master, 4050 Monticello Cleveland Heights. In addition to performing on guitar, bass and piano, he operated his own music school and taught at the Broadway and Sutphen schools of music. Born Robert Donal Banks in Cleveland, he attended John Adams High School at a time when every Cleveland high school offered music instruction.

He moved to New York City in the 1940s and played in clubs along the East Coast for about five years, then returned to Cleveland while the city still had a number of places that offered live jazz. He led his own group in nightspots along Cedar Avenue, East 55th Street, East 105th Street and Kinsman Road. In recent years, he had frequent engagements at Nighttown in Cleveland Heights and Club Isabella in University Circle. Along the way he earned a bachelor's degree in voice and piano at Cleveland State University and took classes in ethnomusicology. He enjoyed working as a Death Notices FRIEDLER SERENA J.
